Obesity in Cats
As obesity is often associated with serious health conditions, it's important that you work with your veterinarian to determine the best way to help your pet reach an ideal weight.
Treatment of obesity
If your vet agrees that your cat needs to take off some weight, a good way to begin is to reduce or eliminate treats and table scraps.
Weight gain occurs when cats have a ‘positive energy balance' for an extended period of time, meaning they are taking in more calories than they are using.
Fatty Liver
Most cats with feline hepatic lipidosis are older, overweight, and have gone through some stress which has caused a decrease or lack of appetite.
Feline Sarcoma
Making sense of feline vaccines - although there is some evidence that vaccines can cause skin cancer, most vets still recommend that cats be vaccinated.
Don't Declaw
Declawing is not an acceptable option for the beautiful, loving animal that depends on you. The reasons to avoid declawing are compelling, for you as well as for your cat.
