AQUARIUS
The Water Bearer Cat
January 20 - February 18
The Acquarius Cat is friendly, inventive, and faithful. Aquarius cats have an eccentric temperament and show great determination and stubbornness. They like to operate as an equal among equals. Their pursuits are usually more intellectual than physical, and they take their work-play very seriously. Although they appear to be calm, they are nervous and apprehensive. They enjoy being with humans but don't want to seem to be dependent on them, even if they are. These cats like having lots of toys but are always willing to share. The Aquarius Cat is a true and faithful friend, even when the cat treat jar is empty.
The Male Aquarius Cat is generous, open, and sincere to those he cares about. He likes to get involved in anything and everything that interests him. He is somewhat shy and will often wait for someone else to make the first move. Although he appears to be a cool cat outwardly, he is really quite emotional and tender. He is very imaginative and quite a dreamer. He loves his human but is still hesitant to commit completely.
The Female Aquarius Cat has high standards and insists on being treated with respect. There is no room for compromise. She is sensitive, intelligent, and likes all humans. She is very giving and always willing to share what she has. She requires a great deal of love and companionship, but it must be on her own terms.
Acquarius is an air and fixed sign ruled by the planet Uranus. The Acquarius color is electric blue.
| The original "KrazyKat." Aquarius cats are unpredictable, and that's how they like it! Just when you think they're your best friends, they become remote and detached, looking down at you from a distant perspective. Independence and individuality are their watchwords. With a strange electricity in their nature, they may appear downright "flaky" at times, and they often can't resist rebelling against what is expected or upsetting the status quo-just because. Yet the Aquarius cat is friendly and generally tolerant of your foibles. |
The Aquarius Cat is friendly and loyal. Aquarius cats love to just hang out with their owners no matter what they are doing, unless it involves bathtubs and water. Aquarius cats enjoy a warm sunbeam, a soft blanket or a fluffy pillow as long as his owner is close by. Aquarius cats are also independent and inventive, always looking for new and different ways to hiss at dogs, spook the goldfish and unravel the yarn in the knitting basket. The Aquarius cat is a true friend in every way, even if there hasn't been any catnip around for awhile.
| Unique personality is definitely the traits of an Aquarian cat. It will adapt well into households with lots of animals and is friendly across species. A bit of a clown, the Aquarian cat will probably have some eccentric look about it or in some way stand out from all the other cats that you know. Fiercely independent, this cat will need lots of quality time alone. This is a perfect cat to have if you need to work a lot. |
Aquarius: The Hip Cat
Whether sitting in the rain or pouring cold water on an owner's ideas, the Aquarius Cat will be an unconventional sort of soul, easily bored and constantly seeking change. Watery at times and elusive at others, this feline is an exceedingly kind and honest cat...when he or she happens to be in the vicinity. Indeed, the Aquarius Cat is like no other in the Zodiac. Very independent and, at heart, a loner, this feline is infamous for being more than a little eccentric...often preferring chocolate to fish, choosing to sleep in the dog's basket, or even displaying great enjoyment in taking a bath. If permitted, the Aquarius Cat will spend hours exploring nature. Deep down inside, this cat is a tomboy...regardless of gender...and adores anything that requires running around. The Aquarius Cat also loves to climb. Physically, the male Aquarius Cat usually has a noble profile, tending to be tall for a cat and pale ginger in color. However, regardless of gender, this cat is prone to poor circulation and cold extremities, which could prove to be a problem for everyone in the Winter when he or she attempts to snuggle up under the comforter at night. This circulatory condition can also lead to varicose veins which, if not caught in time, could develop into a major ailment. Plenty of exercise is needed by the Aquarius Cat, being the best natural answer to this feline's health troubles.
In general, the Aquarius Cat is reliable, good-natured and intelligent enough to recognize the advantages of sharing life with humans. He or she will be around much of the time...watching but unseen. The tendency to be aloof is a quality often associated with the Sign of Aquarius, but there will be occasions when this feline becomes worried that the owner may not continue to provide if he or she does not appear more dependent upon human generosity and any owner should make the most of it when the Aquarius Cat comes down to play and amuse...these will be rare occurrences and practically the only quality time an owner will ever have with this feline. Contact with humans (albeit from a distance) is more important to an Aquarius Cat than the time spent with other felines and his or her best friends are likely to be birds. This cat will attract people with an incredibly strange allure until he or she has a battery of acquaintances of all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life. The Aquarius Cat needs a large extended family in order to satisfy social needs, but an owner should be prepared for this feline to organize gatherings. Luckily, there are peaceful times since the Aquarius Cat does enjoy paying visits to others in their own surroundings...just as much as he or she delights in running an open house.
Blessed with the ability to get along with almost everyone, the Aquarius Cat truly comes into his or her own with a Libra native. This combination is the closest thing to a perfect human/cat relationship, the pairing being completely content together. Gemini subjects may also develop an intelligent relationship with the Aquarius Cat, based on reason and mutual understanding. Like all those governed by the Sign of Aquarius (regardless of species), this feline is drawn to performing for the masses and the cat on television who is happily munching on a bowl of Meow Mix is, more likely than not, a native of Aquarius. This cat rarely displays emotions and is not inclined to sulk or complain unless truly bothered by something.
Your white Siamese Aquarian cat would probably be delighted if you dyed her pink, for just like their canine counterparts the Aquarian cat is an eccentric. She may prefer chocolate to fish, her best friends are birds and she'll sleep in the dog's basket. She may even enjoy having a bath. She's like no cat you've ever known. The Aquarian cat is also very independent - you're only there to supply the food - so don't expect a great deal of affection from her. Aquarians of all species are drawn to working in television, so if you're looking for a star for your show or advertisement then the Aquarian cat is purrfect.
This is the kitten of mystery. They are timid and very cautious. Even though they seem sweet and pliable, do not be fooled, they can be very stubborn and resolute.
They seem to be always thinking, they are - that is why it is sometimes hard to get them to do thing - they have to decide if they want to do it or not. This takes much consideration and thought. Maybe they will and maybe they won't - who knows - for sure they don't. If you really want them to do something a lot of coaxing will usually persuade them.
They are not real energetic - are very sensitive. However, there are times they will flit around being very physical until they just drop from exhaustion. Be sure you control their rest as they can over-do it when they have this spurt of activity.
This kitten is a daydreamer. He will spend hours looking into other worlds - like Oz. One problem they will have is moving around while day dreaming - which sometimes can have funny results. Maybe like walking on the window ledge and stepping off the end and plopping on the couch. So keep your eye out for danger.
They are very loving and have no interest in fighting or hunting. They never throw fits or stomp around like you did them wrong.
The most amazing thing they will do is play in the rain or water. They have even been known to swim. No trouble if you want to bathe this kitten. They will eat and sleep anywhere. Will eat things most cats wouldn't touch. They also seem to get their days and nights upside down. Will want to sleep when all are awake and romp when all are asleep. On warm spring days they won't go out - on cold snowy days they can't wait to roll in the snow.
They will not be demanding, but give their love freely and generously. They will expect good food and loving attention and plenty of places to roam and lots of hidey holes.
