I STAND AND STARE IN DISBELIEF - AT SHREDDED PAPERS EVERYWHERE, CLAW MARKS ON THE BRAND NEW DRAPES - AND STUFFING POKING FROM MY CHAIR! AMAZING WHAT A CAT CAN DO WHEN LEFT ALONE FOR HOURS ON END! BUT ALL THIS MESS I SOON FORGIVE WHEN GREETED BY MY FURRY FRIENDS. THEY LOUDLY MEOW A "WELCOME HOME" THEN COAT MY LEGS WITH TABBY FUR, AS ‘ROUND AND 'ROUND THEY WIND, DECLARING INNOCENCE WITH EVERY PURR! SOME RETURN TO NEATER HOMES WHERE THINGS ARE NEVER OUT OF PLACE. BUT I'LL TAKE CLUTTER ANY DAY - AS LONG AS IT INCLUDES THESE FACES! Our Fur Friends They warm our laps... Give us someone to talk to... Help reduce high blood pressure... Create a "kindred" feeling with other cat people... Turn common household objects into cat toys... Make us more aware of birds... Donate their services as alarm clocks... Display daring acrobatic feats in front of our eyes... Contribute to living a longer life... Make a window sill more beautiful... Keep mice on the run... Make us smile... Inspire Poets and Playwrights... Teach us how to land on our feet... Let us indulge our desires to spoil someone... Make our homes warmer... Remind us that our life is mysterious... Share with us the all-is-well purring experience... Instruct us in the luxurious art of stretching... Show us how to lick our wounds and go on... Give us cool cartoon characters... Make even an old warn couch look beautiful... Most of all they..Open our hearts... A CATS PRAYER I HOPE I'M NOT ASKING TOO MUCH LORD ALL I WANT IS A HOME OF MY OWN, AND TO KNOW... THAT MY NEXT MEAL IS COMING INSTEAD OF THE SCRAPS I GET THROWN. I'VE BEEN OUT IN THE COLD FOR SO LONG NOW COPING AS BEST AS I CAN BUT IT'S NOT SO LONG I'VE FORGOTTEN THE TOUCH OF SOFT CARING HAND. I LOOK IN HOUSE WINDOWS AT CHRISTMAS AS CATS DOZE BY THE FIRE QUITE REPLETE- HOW I'D WELCOME A BOX IN THE KITCHEN AND FOOD FOR ME TO EAT. FOR ME THERE WAS TINSEL AND GIFTWRAP BUT THE FUN DIDN'T LAST VERY LONG- THEY PUT ME OUT WITH THE RUBISH I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID WRONG. I REALY DON'T WANT TO BE GREEDY AT THE MOMENT I'M ALL SKIN AND BONE SO WOULD IT BE TOO MUCH TO HOPE FOR THAT SOMEONE WILL GIVE ME A HOME?  |
